Soul Journey

“We bear responsibility in the evolution of a higher consciousness for ourselves and others in life. Thus, our journey is a collective one.”  – Michael Newton

Have you ever wondered if there is more to life than what we are taught to believe? Or how does our individual lives fit into the grand scheme of things? If so, this is the blog post for you! First and foremost, this post is not written to sway anyone’s personal beliefs. As spirit beings, we have free will when it comes to every aspect of our lives. Everyone is entitled to their personal beliefs as it relates to a higher power or divine being known as God. You will know if the information presented in this post resonates with you or not. I feel the information resonates with me because I have always been spiritually gifted since I was a child but I didn’t understand what I was experiencing. When I started studying spirituality in depth to further understand myself, I found the information on the soul journey very fascinating. Understanding the soul journey will help you evolve your level of consciousness, provide comfort when you experience the transition of a love one from their physical form, and assist you in discovering the overall purpose of your life.

Soul overview

The soul is identified as a spirit and the true self that continues to live on after death in the astral plane. It is very powerful and is believed to reflect your level of consciousness. The soul originates from a divine being which should not be categorized as having form or compared to matter. Each soul is different and will encounter different experiences in life to evolve their level of consciousness.

Incarnation

From a spiritual perspective, incarnation is defined as becoming flesh, the material manifestation of spirit. In Christianity, an example of incarnation is God becoming flesh in the form of man as Jesus Christ. There are others who believed Elias (Elijah) and Elisha in the Old Testament reincarnated as John the Baptist and Jesus Christ in the New Testament. Thus, creating an example of souls reincarnating together in different lifetimes and roles to provide support for one another.

Souls reside in the astral plane until it is time to incarnate on earth. A soul can incarnate many different lifetimes to learn the lessons needed to evolve to a higher level of consciousness. Many souls are subject to multiple incarnations because they remain at an immature level. However, that is not in their best interest because any lesson not learned in the current lifetime will be repeated in the next one. Often times, a soul may become misaligned with the lesson agreed to before incarnating because free will is still retained. So, if you decide to drift into left field for a bit instead of focusing on learning your lesson, you are well within your right to do so but your growth may be delayed.

With each incarnation, there is no memory of a previous life or the reason for returning. Perhaps, this is the reason John the Baptist denied being Elias (Elijah) because he had no memory of his previous life. Until the light bulb of purpose goes off, the identity of the soul is deeply rooted in the physical body operating in the wonderful ego. As we all know, the body is a temporary vessel for the soul and it shall return to dust when we depart from it.

Another component of incarnation is karmic debt and each soul is accountable for their actions. As the saying goes, you reap what you sow. Therefore, it is important to be mindful of your actions toward others. The last thing you want is a bunch of bad karma knocking at your door. Also, there is no “hell” in the afterlife of each incarnation. It is believed unwise decisions, lack of discipline, regrets, and other negative behaviors are manifested in the form of “hell” during each incarnation on earth.

Soul Groups

Individual souls are apart of soul groups. Members of a soul group may incarnate many lifetimes together in different roles to support one another in learning their current lesson. You hear the saying you meet people for a reason, season or lifetime and that can be linked to members of your soul group supporting you. Also, when we encounter familiar people, they may be souls we incarnated with from another lifetime. For example, you may run into someone in the grocery store and it feels like you know them from somewhere but it is your first time crossing paths with them. In this instance, you may recognize their soul but not the physical body they are currently inhabiting.

The term soul mate is very common and it’s often used to describe a romantic relationship. However, a soul mate can be found in many types of relationships that are not romantic. A soul mate can be a spouse, friend, boss, aunt, cousin, stranger, etc. Soul mates are apart of the same soul group, which may explain why some people get along and some don’t. Also, it’s not uncommon to incarnate with souls that are not apart of your soul group, which is another reason why people may or may not get along with one another. Usually, members of a soul group have similar levels of consciousness. If members of your soul group decide to remain in the astral plane instead of incarnating, you are still connected to them and they can provide support.

Wrap up

The soul journey is an amazing experience and it carries over from lifetime to lifetime to assist you in reaching your highest level of consciousness. There is a lot to be learned about the soul journey. The soul is a spirit and our true identity and it never ceases to exist, it only changes form. Our soul goes through many incarnations to learn the lessons needed to evolve. However, we do not incarnate with memories of our past lives but we can access them through past life regression hypothesis therapy. The sessions can assist in identifying issues that may have carried over from a past life and what steps are needed to resolve them. A professional trained to facilitate the therapy sessions should be utilized.

It’s always important to work on evolving into the best version on yourself. When you are in alignment with your purpose, it allows you to support others as well. Your spiritual journey is related to each individual incarnation and your soul journey is related to all of your combined incarnations. Let’s make the best of each one!
